He also offers other lens-based methods of vision correction including Implantable Collamer Lens (EVO ICL), Custom Lens Replacement, and advanced cataract surgery. He is also well-versed in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma, including prescription eyedrops, laser procedures, and micro-invasive glaucoma procedures.
Dr. DeCourcey has received many awards and honors and has presented his research at national conferences. By extension of his interest in new technology and cutting-edge therapies, he has also been an investigator on a myriad of clinical studies.
His love of Ophthalmology and helping others is apparent based on the compassionate and personalized care he provides. Dr. DeCourcey strives to connect with each patient, listen to them, and understand their vision goals. He personally understands the struggles of poor vision, having previously been dependent on glasses and contacts. Now, as a proud EVO ICL and refractive surgery patient, he is prepared to help you achieve the same visual freedom. He is acutely aware of how important your eyes are and is endlessly committed to helping you get the vision you desire.
He is a member of American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and Refractive Surgery Alliance. He is also a Charter Fellow of the World College of Refractive Surgery and Visual Sciences.
Dr. DeCourcey lives in the Charleston area with his loving wife, Dr. Danielle DeCourcey, a practicing Pediatrician at Coastal Pediatric Associates. When he isn’t in the clinic or operating room, he enjoys golf, skiing, and cheering for his Buffalo Bills!
